Jokowi Awarded The Honorary Sign Of The President Of FiFA In November 2023

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) conferred an honorary sign to the President of the International Football Federation Gianni Infantino in November 2023.

This was conveyed by Jokowi after conferring a sign of honor to a number of figures at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, August 14.

"Gianni Infantino could not attend. Later it may be given in November," said Jokowi.

Jokowi explained that FIFA President Gianni Infantino could not attend the awarding of an honorary sign this Monday.

Supposedly, the handover of honors to Gianni coincided with the handover of the Honorary Certificate of Mahaputera Nararya to Wishnutama Kusubandio as an art activist.

The President said his plan to honor Gianni was handed over in November, along with the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia which will take place from November 10 to December 2, 2023.

"Probably yes," the President said when asked by the media about the handover of the honor mark at the World Cup.

On the previous occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD explained that PSSI proposed awarding a sign of honor to the President of FIFA.

According to Mahfud, the requirement for someone to get a certificate of service is to fulfill the requirements for service and carry out various innovations.

Especially for Gianni, he is considered to play a role in national football because he provides cooperation guidance so that he is considered worthy of an honor.

"If the FIFA services for football in Indonesia are not given at a state ceremony, but at the time of the world football match here it will be given as an award, and people here like to get stars from abroad too," he said.
