SUMBAR - Three State Civil Apparatus (ASN) are suspects in the alleged corruption case in the management of the Upper Market Building for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Currently, the suspects have not been detained. The Prosecutor's Office is still completing the files, examining witnesses and confiscations. Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Bukittinggi Kejari Dasmer said this case was revealed by a public report about the Upper Market in the previous few years.

"We started the investigation in April 2022, about 80 people from all related parties have been examined as witnesses. The detention can later be carried out in relation to the interests of the case and the investigators' considerations, currently there are still stages that are still being passed, the process is still ongoing," he said. Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of the City (Sekdako) Bukittinggi Martias Wanto emphasized that the Bukittinggi City Government supports the legal efforts made by the Bukittinggi Kejari and orders ASN involved to be cooperative. "We still adhere to the presumption of innocence and the legal process must be followed properly according to the mayor's direction so that the three ASNs remain cooperative until this case is resolved," he said.
