Sudirman Said Invites National Figures To Strengthen Anies Baswedan's Barisan

Spokesperson for Anies Baswedan, Sudirman Said invited national figures to strengthen the winning line for presidential candidate Anies Baswedan.

"We invite as many trusted figures as possible to join forces to strengthen the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP)," he said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

He also appreciated a number of national figures who were predicted to be vice presidential candidates or paired with Anies Baswedan. Some of them are Susi Pudjiastuti, Yenny Wahid, Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

In addition to the names that Agus Harrimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Achmad Heryawan have commonly heard.

"We are grateful that more and more figures have opened up, willing to consider becoming Pak Anies' partner," he said.

According to him, Anies is increasingly trusted as a figure who hopes for future improvements. He reiterated that the current name of the vice president is already with Anies Baswedan.

"Because the Bacawapres finally has only one, then it would be better if these figures were willing to join forces to fight for change and improvement," he hoped.

Based on the schedule set by the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.
