Continuing, Heru Budi emphasized that President Joko Widodo had given directions for the East-West MRT to use a development scheme similar to the North-South Line MRT. "“ Reflecting on the success of the construction, operation and business of the North-South Line MRT, and considering the continuity of urban railway transportation development which must be in line with the development in the Jabodetabek area, the East-West Line MRT needs to be ensured. continuity,” said Heru. Currently, the North-South Line MRT has operated 16 kilometers from Lebak Bulus to the HI Roundabout, with the average daily passenger reaching 100,000 per day. In addition to the MRT implementation, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also given a mandate to PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) to manage and develop transit-oriented areas (TOD) on the North-South Line MRT to support the shift in the use of transportation from private vehicles to public transportation. "We hope that the development of the MRT Jakarta Phase 3 route will support the development of railway public transportation which has a broad impact on the people of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings," said Heru.

Currently, the institutional consensus of MRT Southeast-West Phase 1, which is a replica of the North-South MRT scheme.
