Head Of BNPB-Menko PMK Hands Over Starvation Assistance In Central Papua, Including 50 Tons Of Rice And 3 Thousand Packages Of Rendang

JAKARTA - Head of BNPB Suharyanto together with Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy handed over logistical assistance and equipment to residents affected by drought and hunger in Puncak Regency, Central Papua, Wednesday, August 2.

The details of the logistical assistance submitted were in the form of 50 tons of rice, 10,000 packages of ready-to-eat food, 3,000 packages of rendang, 3,000 bags of protein milk and 3,000 packages of basic necessities.

Then for equipment, it includes 2,000 rolled tents, 10,000 blankets, 2,000 mattresses, 2,000 folding mattresses, 2,000 children's clothes, 2,000 adult clothes, 4 refugee tents, 20 electric generators, and 3 trail motors.

Suharyanto said the assistance was handed over directly to representatives of residents symbolically, witnessed by Puncak Regent Willem Wandik and his staff at the Cargo Terminal, Mozes Kilangin Airport, Timika.

The assistance from the central government will be flown to Agandugume District using the Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft with a carrying capacity of up to 900 kilograms.

Then the Agandugume District was chosen considering that this point became the closest location to the worst affected area.

Because (the Agandugume Distric) is closer. Although every day it can only be one sortie (flight) depending on the weather. And that's one transport there are 900 kilograms," said Suharyanto.

Furthermore, Suharyanto said that BNPB continues to be committed to helping affected residents, both from logistics and equipment to distribution. Through this support, the Head of BNPB ensures that all logistical needs will be met.

"This support will be carried out continuously. BNPB during this emergency response period will help both logistics and transportation," said Suharyanto.

His party continues to convince the affected communities that logistical assistance for them is fulfilled.
