200 Komcad West Papua Inaugurated After 4 Months Of Training At Rindam XVIII/Kasuari

WEST PAPUA - Commander of the XVIII/Kasuari Regional Military Command (Pangdam) Major General TNI Gabriel Lema inaugurated 200 personnel of the West Papua Province state defense reserve component (komcad) on Monday, July 31.

"The closure and inauguration of Komcad personnel will be carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia," Gabriel said at the XVIII/Kasuari Military Command Headquarters, Arfai, Manokwari, West Papua, Monday, July 31, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that 200 West Papua Komcad personnel had attended various basic military trainings for four months.

The training was carried out centrally at the XVIII/Kasuari Main Military Command (Rindam) Regiment in South Manokwari Regency.

"Praise be to everyone who can get through training and get to the inauguration," said Gabriel.

He said the hundreds of Komcads that had been inaugurated were part of the defense and security system of the people of the universe (sishankamrata).

Komcad West Papua consists of various backgrounds and types of jobs such as state civil servants (ASN), lecturers, teachers, and private employees.

"Some are already working and some have just graduated. This is proof of their love for the Republic of Indonesia," said Gabriel Lema.

He said the coaching process for the Komcad would continue under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) of the Republic of Indonesia.

Komcad's daily life has been recorded in the Sishankamrata database and is a representation of state defense soldiers.

"The head of the Komcad in accordance with their education level," said the Pangdam.

After the inauguration, he said, 200 Komcad personnel from West Papua were prepared to depart for Bandung, West Java.

This is related to the agenda of closing the Komcad in 2023 nationally by President Joko Widodo.

"They gathered with other Komcads for two weeks. The plan is for the President to close on August 11, 2023," he said.

According to him, the acceptance of Komcad candidates will be reopened in the future according to central government policies.

If realized, then Kodam XVIII/Kasuari will always provide training for Komcad candidates as best they can.

"Kodam Kasuari is ready if the government reopens the acceptance of the third batch of Komcad," said Gabriel.
