Parking Retribution In 2022 In Jakarta Does Not Reach Target, DPRD Questions Abandoned Electronic Parking Machines

JAKARTA - Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD highlighted the low realization of regional revenue in the parking sector in the capital city during 2022. Based on the APBD accountability report for the 2022 fiscal year, the realization of parking UP revenue only reached Rp. 51.3 billion or 72.88 percent of the target of Rp. 70.4 billion. Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Gilbert Simanjuntak regretted the condition of the parking machine meter or electronic parking terminal (TPE) installed since a few years ago and now abandoned. On that basis, Gilbert asked DKI Transportation Agency to evaluate the existence of electronic parking machines that are now no longer used. Similarly, the Chairman of Commission B DPRD DKI Jakarta Ismail also asked Dishub to evaluate the parking retribution collection mechanism. Because, he views that parking management in Jakarta has great potential to contribute to achieving regional revenue targets.

"We see that there really needs to be a thorough evaluation regarding what, firstly regulation. The regulation does not provide a gap for especially the organizers and others to conduct collusion in recording," explained Ismail. "Secondly, we consider here the need to do (recording) electronically to reduce the potential for leakage," he added.
