Reviewing The Solo-Purwodadi Line, Jokowi: The Road Is Steady

President Joko Widodo reviewed the condition of the Solo-Gemolong-Purwodadi (ist) road section.

SRAGEN - President Joko Widodo reviewed the condition of the Solo-Gemolong-Purwodadi Road section, in Sragen, Sunday, July 23. The road, which was reviewed by Jokowi and the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, is in the process of being upgraded. It is targeted that by the end of this year, road improvements by means of casting can be completed.

"In Central Java, I see the road is complete, the provincial road is good. If I compare it yesterday in Sumatra, the average is 60 percent. In Central Java, I received a report from the Ministry of Public Works that was 88 percent," he said in a media statement received by VOI.

Jokowi said that this year the government has budgeted IDR 14 trillion, which is divided into two stages. The budget is used to repair and accelerate the handling of provincial, district/city roads in the country.

Jokowi said that currently there are still several points that need to be repaired. For example, on the Solo-Gemolong-Purwodadi Road, whose condition has been damaged for a long time.

"For this road, since I was little, every day I pass this road has never been done. Now if the construction like this is twice as expensive, but I think the use of it for more than ten years will be good," he explained.

Jokowi explained that road construction on the Solo-Purwodadi Road is being accelerated. Road quality is improved, from asphalt to cor.

"This is what we are working on. Hopefully with the construction we are doing, the Solo-Purwodadi road will be good forever because this construction is 10 cm thick, there is another 25 cm. This is in the long term. Maybe in the short term it is expensive but if it is calculated in the long term it is cheaper," he said.

Jokowi also said that all road work must be done quickly. The two-term president also praised the work in Central Java, including fast, several have contracts and some have been running.

"So I need to go to the field this week, invite Mr. Gub to look at the field," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo expressed his gratitude to President Jokowi and the Minister of PUPR, Basuki Hadimoeljono for successfully completing several roads in Central Java with an inpres.

Central Java is a province that gets an infrastructure budget allotment from the central government and has been used for repairs and improvements.

"We can get around Rp600 billion and in the second phase we will get around Rp600 billion more, so the total is Rp1.2 trillion. That helps to clean up several roads like those in Gemolong that have not been completed for a long time. So what we didn't spend yesterday during the pandemic, today we got replacements from Pak Jokowi and Pak Basuki," he explained.

Ganjar also confirmed that the road was his priority during his tenure as Governor of Central Java since 2013. This has resulted in a total good road in Central Java reaching 88 percent.

"We have a good road of 88 percent, yes. That's the impact of us increasing our infrastructure budget from the beginning to 300 percent, yes. So it turns out that the results are measured quite significantly to this day," he concluded.
