DENPASAR - Denpasar District Court, Bali sentenced a teenager with the initials PAHP (14) to 7.5 years in prison. This teenager was found guilty of a violent theft case that killed a bank employee named Ni Putu Widiastiti.

"Yes, he was sentenced to seven years and six months, or conform, which means the same as the demands, there is no reduction or addition," said Denpasar District Court spokesman I Made Pasek as quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 28.

The verdict hearing is held virtually. However, the defendant was still accompanied by his parents, Bapas Denpasar and related parties.

"What needs to be known is that the punishment in child cases is different from the adult verdict, the threat is half that of adults, for the case of children with a maximum imprisonment of 10 years," he said.

The Panel of Judges led by Hari Supriyanto sentenced the defendant in accordance with Article 365 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code.

There were also aggravating things, namely the defendant's adolescent act that attracted the attention of the public, causing the victim to lose his life and property in the form of Rp. 200 thousand, one unit of the victim's motorcycle.

Meanwhile, for mitigating matters, during the trial the defendant was polite so that the proceedings were smooth.

The defendant was found to have covered the victim's mouth and shot a knife at the victim while trying to steal on December 27, 2020.

The defendant stabbed 38 stabs, causing the victim to become weak and died.
