A Hajj Pilgrim From Magetan Dies While Throwing Jumrah In Mina

JAKARTA - A pilgrim from Magetan Regency, East Java, died in Mina, Saudi Arabia. He closed his age when he was about to throw a jumrah procession.

Acting Head of Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Ministry of Religion, Magetan, Imam Subakti, informed that the Hajj that died was on behalf of Sadirun Karso Rejo (70) from Pingkuk Village, Bendo District, who was part of the SUB-13 group.

"The deceased died in the Holy Land on Thursday, June 29. The deceased was separated from the group when he was about to leave to throw a jumrah in Mina at around 16.00 local time before finally being found the PPIH Team was in critical condition," said Imam in Magetan quoting Antara.

After being found, officers, he continued, medical treatment was carried out for the person concerned, until he finally died.

He explained that a total of three pilgrims from Magetan Regency had died. Namely, two people came from group 14 and one from the group 13

"We, the entire Hajj and Ministry of Religion of Magetan, share our condolences. May the deceased be given husnul khotimah and Ahlul Jannah," he said.

Meanwhile, from the family of the deceased, he admitted that he was sincere even though he lost the death of the deceased.

Even though he felt lost, the family was sincere about the death of the deceased. "We are sincere because he died while praying at God's house," said family representative Agus Suryadi.

According to the data, the quota for Hajj candidates from Magetan departing for the Hajj season in 2023 is 533 people. Of that number, as many as 85 pilgrims entered the flying group (kloter) 13, 445 pilgrims entered the group 14, and three pilgrims from Magetan joined the Blitar cluster.

"In the 2023/1444 Hijri Hajj season, Magetan gets 533 quotas, and thank God all of them can go," said Imam.
