So Khatib Prays Eid, Mahfud MD Conveys Take Care Of Your Relationship Ahead Of Political Year

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD became a preacher at Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri prayers at the Great Mosque of Central Java. On that occasion Mahfud MD invited the public to maintain brotherhood in facing the political year ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"As a preacher, I invite all to fill the political year with brotherhood in order to maintain the integrity of the Indonesian state, not to be excessively hostile," said Mahfud MD, Antara, Thursday, June 29.

According to Mahfud, the existence of differences in political views ahead of the democratic party in Indonesia is a natural thing.

"It may be different, but once the election is over, that is our representative in the government and the DPRD. After the election, let's get together and build a common Indonesian country," he added.

The life of the nation and state, he continued, must be united even though it does not have to be the same exactly.

"The method doesn't have to be the same, but the goal must be the same. Support each other to achieve common goals," he said.

He said that Indonesia is a gift and blessings from Allah SWT, so it must be cared for and guarded.

"Let us take care of God's blessings to us who give Indonesia as an independent country, which gives freedom to worship. We protect Indonesia as a form of gratitude to God's gift," said Mahfud.

After delivering the Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri prayer sermon, Mahfud attended the inauguration of the MAJT Tourism Agro and carried out the first dates and symbolically handed over sacrificial cows.
