Attorney General: 2 Perpetrators Of Asabri Corruption Case Are The Same As Jiwasraya

JAKARTA - Attorney General S.T. Burhanuddin said the 2 suspects in the PT. Asabri corruption case were the same as the Jiwasraya case. However, he did not elaborate on who the suspect was.

"Especially Asabri because the perpetrators, excuse me, the perpetrators of Asabri and Jiwasraya are indeed the same two person," said Burhanuddin in a working meeting with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) which was broadcasted on the DPR RI YouTube account, Tuesday, January 26.

The Attorney General's Office has confiscated the assets of the suspect in this case. Burhanuddin said that until now, asset tracking was still being carried out even though his party had confiscated assets with a value of up to IDR 18 trillion

"The assets are still there and what we have confiscated is around  IDR 18 trillion and we will continue to track it down. Although it will be heavy but (this is done, red) because Asabri's loss is above Jiwasraya insurance," he explained.

As for the total state losses in the corruption case committed by PT. Asabri, he said, based on an audit from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), it reached IDR 22 trillion.

"So the calculation result of the BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency) is IDR 17 trillion, but we use the BPK of IDR 22 trillion," he said.

Previously it was reported, Attorney General S.T. Burhanuddin revealed that 7 potential suspects in the alleged corruption case of financial management and investment funds of PT. Asuransi Angkatan Bersilateral (Asabri).

Even so, he said, the number of suspects may still increase because the investigation is still being carried out.
