The East Java High Prosecutor's Office has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of a soldier's fictitious housing project that occurred in 2018, one of which has the initials IN which is being held at the Class 1 Rutan in Surabaya, the East Java Prosecutor's Office Branch.

"The suspect IN is a contractor for PT Neocelindo Inti Beton Bandung Branch which in 2018 admitted to getting a work package for building a soldier's house equivalent to a six-story tower in Jakarta," said Head of the East Java Prosecutor's Office Mia Amiati as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 22.

Mia said that the suspect who received the work package for the construction of the soldier's house then handed over the work to PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER) Puspa Utama.

"As an initial work fee or relocation, suspect IN asked PT SIER Puspa Utama for money and has been given Rp1.2 billion. However, the construction has never been realized, aka fictitious," he said.

In this case, the East Java Prosecutor's Office also named another suspect with the initials DK from the TNI who in 2018 served as lieutenant colonel or middle officer for receiving gratuities for the fictitious project.

Kajati explained that the money obtained by the suspect IN from PT SIER Puspa Utama was Rp. 1.2 billion as an initial work fee or relocation, then received by Lt. Col. DK.

"So, it is suspected that Lieutenant Colonel DK received gratification money," he said.

In the corruption case of the soldier housing project, previously there were two defendants who had obtained a legal decision from the panel of judges in the first instance court.

They are Dwi Fendi Pamungkas who at the time of the 2018 incident served as President Director of PT SIER Puspa Utama and Agung Budhi Satriyo as Head of the Technical Bureau in the subsidiary of PT SIER.

"Both of them were both sentenced to one year and six months in prison at the first instance. However, we are trying to appeal because the sentence is too light," added Kajati Mia.
