A total of five urban villages in Pangkalpinang City were flooded with water levels from 50-80 centimeters aka cm.

Floods hit Pangkalpinang in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) due to the impact of high-intensity rain.

"We have deployed a rapid reaction team to help victims of this flood," said Head of BPBD of the Babel Islands Province, Mikron Antariksa in Pangkalpinang, Monday, June 19, confiscated by Antara.

The five urban villages that were flooded were Air Nangka, Bukit Sari, National Building, Rejosari and Kampung Bintang, Pangkalpinang City.

"Currently, we are still collecting data on which points were flooded due to this heavy rain," he said.

He stated that heavy rain accompanied by strong winds also caused the ceiling of the Transmart shopping center in Pangkalpinang City to collapse.

"Alhamdulillah, the collapse of the ceiling did not cause any casualties, because the situation at the time of the incident was quiet," he said.

According to him, the flood and puddles were not only due to heavy rainfall due to narrow waterways, so rainwater spilled onto roads and residential areas.

"We hope that the community will always maintain the cleanliness of the waterways, so that floods and puddles do not occur again when it rains heavily," he said.
