Eid Al-Adha 2023, President Jokowi Sacrifices Limousin Cow Weighing 1 Ton In West Sumatra

Indonesian President Joko Widodo sacrificed one Limoucine cow weighing 1 ton for people in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) in the context of Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri/2023 AD.

"We propose three superior cows for the President's sacrifice in West Sumatra. Eko Setiawan's Limousin Cross from Padang Panjang weighs about 1000-1080 kilograms," said Head of the West Sumatra Animal Husbandry and Health Service, Sukarli, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 19.

He said the selected cow had gone through the health check process and met the requirements according to the Shari'a so that it was declared feasible for sacrifice.

According to him, this year the sacrificial cow from the President of the Republic of Indonesia will be slaughtered at the Grand Mosque of West Sumatra and the meat will be distributed to the local community.

He said the technical slaughter of sacrificial animals would be taken over by the West Sumatra Secretariat Secretariat Bureau including for the slaughter schedule.

Previously, the West Sumatra Provincial Government conducted a selection and proposed three superior cows to be chosen as sacrificial animals from President Joko Widodo for the people of the area.

Of the dozens of selected cows, three large cows were selected which were proposed to be sacrificial animals from the President in West Sumatra.

Each of the three cows is Limousin Cross owned by Eko Setiawan weighing 1000-1080 kilograms, then Armudamas' Simbra cross cow, a resident of Solok Regency weighing about 946-1037 kilograms.

Finally, Dt's simental type cow. Palindih is a resident of Agam Regency. The cow weighs about 961-1037 kilograms.

In 2022 President Joko Widodo will sacrifice one local PO in West Sumatra.

The local PO beef weighing 0.9 tons was then distributed to earthquake victims that occurred in Pasaman, said Sukarli.
