ENDE - The joint team of the Narcotics Research Unit and the Ende Police Security and Intelligence Investigation Unit, East Nusa Tenggara Police, thwarted the delivery of 735 liters of moke-type local liquor from Aimere, Ngada Regency, to Sikka Regency.
Ende Police Chief AKBP Andre Librian said the failure to deliver the local liquor was carried out after a report came in last Tuesday.
"The team then conducted an investigation and the report was correct, so the shipment was immediately thwarted," he said when confirmed from Kupang, Antara, Wednesday, June 13 afternoon.
He explained that the 735 liters of moke-type liquor was transported using a four-wheeled vehicle and was detained and secured while in Imam Bonjol Street, Kota Ratu Urban Village, North Ende District.
Of the 735 liters of liquor, it is divided into 21 jerry cans of 35 liters each. The local police suspect that some of the local liquor will be sold freely in Sikka Regency so that it can be bought and consumed by people.
"Currently, some of the liquor has been confiscated and secured in the Narcotics Unit of the Ende Police," he added.
The joint team also arrested the owner of the drink with the initials YFT and is still conducting further investigations.
"We are still holding the owner and we are asking for further information," he said.
