The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Council Asks For Time To Handle Allegations Of Ethical Violations Firli Bahuri

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not yet decided on the follow-up to reports of alleged ethical violations of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. Dewas needs more time because of the large number of jobs.

"Give us more time, we still have a lot to do," said Chairman of the KPK Council Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean to reporters, Wednesday, June 13.

Some members of the supervisory board are currently on duty outside, said Tumpak. Thus, the continuation of reports of alleged violations related to the dismissal of Brigadier General Endar Priantoro as Director of Investigation of the KPK and leakage of documents at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources still have to wait.

Tumpak promised that the final information would definitely be submitted. Two complaints that came in are currently being reviewed after requests for information from a number of parties.

"In time of course I will inform you," he said.

As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Council has collected clarification regarding alleged ethical violations in the honorable dismissal of Brigadier General Endar Priantoro from the position of Director of Investigation. They just have to determine whether or not the allegations go up to the ethics trial.

"Until now (the request for clarification, ed) is sufficient," said KPK Council member Albertina Ho to reporters some time ago. Endar was honorably dismissed from the position of Director of Investigation on March 31 after he was returned to the National Police. However, the Bhayangkara Corps member was asked to return to the KPK as ordered by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

As a result of this incident, he reported KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and KPK Secretary General Cahya H. Harefa to the KPK Supervisory Board. In addition, Endar also reported other alleged violations such as leaking documents for investigating alleged corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to forcing the manufacture of documents even though the title of the case or exposure had not been carried out.

Not only that, Endar also reported the leadership, Secretary General, and Head of the KPK HR Bureau to the Indonesian Ombudsman. He suspects that maladministration occurred when he was dismissed as Director of Investigation of the KPK.

Then, Endar also reported Firli for allegedly leaking the investigation documents of alleged corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and forcing him to make documents related to the handling of cases at the KPK.
