BOGOR - The Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of West Java III confiscated 24 tax arrears in its environment with a total temporary estimate of IDR 5.2 billion

Head of the West Java III DGT Regional Office, Lucia Widiharsanti, said that the billions of assets were the result of State Tax Confiscation (JSPN) from a number of Tax Service Offices (KPP) which carried out simultaneous confiscations at the end of last May.

"On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, our officers from KPP in Bogor City, Bekasi City, Depok City and Bogor Regency simultaneously confiscated 24 assets belonging to tax arrears. Starting from land, buildings, motorized vehicles, machinery, accounts to cash," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.

Lucia explained that before the confiscation, a persuasive approach was taken in accordance with the legislation so that the taxpayer would pay off his tax debt.

Since the maturity of the decision, the taxpayer is given a warning letter, if the tax debt is not repaid in 21 days, then a forced letter is issued. If 2x24 hours of the Forced Letter is still ignored, it will be confiscated.

"If the taxpayer still does not pay off the tax debt within 14 days of confiscation, an auction will be carried out and the proceeds from the auction will go into the state treasury as payment of the tax debt. If what is confiscated is in the form of time deposits, savings, bank account balances, giro, or other forms, it will be transferred to the state treasury account," explained Lucia.

There were three land and building assets worth Rp1.9 billion confiscated by KPP Pratama Ciawi and KPP Pratama Depok Sawangan.

Then, two machines worth Rp 1.98 billion were confiscated by KPP Madya Bogor and KPP Madya Bekasi City.

Other assets in the form of five motorbikes worth Rp. 64 million, eight cars worth Rp. 1 billion, and a number of cash equivalents worth Rp. 320 million were confiscated by KPP Madya Bogor, KPP Madya Bekasi City, KPP Pratama Bogor, KPP Pratama Cileungsi, KPP Pratama Cibinong, KPP Pratama Depok Sawangan, KPP Pratama Pondok Gede and KPP Pratama West Bekasi.

This step is a form of partiality and to create a sense of justice for taxpayers who have complied.

Confiscation of tax arrears can also provide awareness for taxpayers to always comply with their tax obligations.
