Bawaslu Susun Juknis Ensures Handling Violations Of Fair And Consistent Elections

JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has compiled technical instructions (juknis) for handling election violations to help ensure that the handling of violations of the 2024 General Election is carried out fairly and consistently.

"This (juknis penanganan pemalhan) membantu memastikan bahwa semua pelanggaran ditangani secara konsisten dan adil," kata anggota Bawaslu Puadi dilansir ANTARA, Selasa, 6 Juni.

He conveyed this when opening the Socialization of Handling Technical Guidelines in the 2024 General Election in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Monday (5/6).

In addition to ensuring justice and consistency in handling election violations by all Bawaslu ranks, Puadi also conveyed that the existence of a comprehensive and open technical guidelines could help build public confidence in the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

"With a transparent procedure, there can be confidence that violations will be handled seriously and fairly so as to strengthen election integrity and legitimacy," he said.

Puadi conveyed that the technical guidelines for handling election violations could provide guidance to all Bawaslu ranks regarding handling procedures that they must follow, including those related to collecting evidence, examination, and giving or determining sanctions decisions given to violators.

The former member of the Bawaslu of DKI Jakarta Province hopes that the technical guidelines for handling election violations can be carefully drafted by Bawaslu and involve relevant stakeholders and refer to the applicable law.

In addition, he continued, the technical guidelines in the future must always be updated and adjusted to new developments in law, technology, and challenges in the implementation and implementation of elections.
