Four Illegal Gold Miners In West Aceh Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - Police officers arrested four residents suspected of illegal gold miners operating in the Peulanggahan River Basin (DAS), Sikundo Village, West Aceh Regency.

"We made arrests of these four perpetrators based on reports from the public," said West Aceh Police Chief AKBP Andrianto Argamuda SIK represented by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Parmohon Harahap in Meulaboh, reported by Antara, Saturday, January 23.

He explained that the four residents who were arrested, each with the initials SD (29), are residents of Rahayu Hamlet, Pasar V Kelapa Garden Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

IS (26), residents of Jurong Pang Raman Hamlet, Alue Bakong Village, Bubon District, West Aceh District, then HY (21) and TM (18), respectively residents of Pante Ceureumen Village, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh Regency.

From the hands of the perpetrators, the police also found a number of evidence, including an orange Hitachi Zaxis 210F / 5G excavator, a medium-sized bottle of mineral water filled with sand mixed with gold grains, and five green carpets.

Parmohon Harahap explained that the disclosure of the alleged illegal gold mining case was carried out after certain criminal acts (Tipidter) personnel from the West Aceh Police received reports from the public regarding the illegal gold mining activity.

This activity allegedly took place in the Peulanggahan watershed, Sikundo Village, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh.

On Friday, January 22, the police coordinated with Pante Ceureumen Police personnel, West Aceh, to go to the location and arrest the perpetrators of illegal gold mining activities.

"We have arrested the four perpetrators and are currently undergoing further investigation," said Parmohon Harahap.
