JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has alerted a health team at two Saudi Arabian airports to deal with the health emergency situation for prospective pilgrims arriving in the Holy Land.

"We have prepared the Airport Health Team at two airports, namely Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz Madinah International Airport and King Abdul Azis International Airport, Jeddah," said Head of the Hajj Health Center of the Ministry of Health Liliek Marhaendro Susilo as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 24.

This year the Ministry of Health has assigned 16 people consisting of doctors, nurses, sanitarians and health support personnel. The doctors on standby are general practitioners, emergency specialists, and aviation medicine specialists.

TKB's work technique includes carrying out early diagnosis of pilgrims who have just arrived with rapid diagnostic visual techniques, so that they can identify high-risk Hajj candidates.

"Through rapid diagnostic visuals, we can detect members of pilgrims who are at risk of worsening health, so this team can prevent medical emergencies that end fatally," he said.

In addition, the team will help carry out the evacuation if there are members of the congregation who experience health problems at the airport. TKB also identified prospective pilgrims who needed referrals.

"My hope is that this health team can prevent medical emergencies that may occur in pilgrims who have just arrived in Saudi Arabia," he said.

When entering the peak of Hajj or better known as the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) phases, TKB is in charge of health services at the Arafah Health Post. TKB is also tasked with carrying out visits if there are members of pilgrims being treated at Saudi Arabian hospitals in Jeddah and Arafah.
