PARIAMAN - Pariaman City, West Sumatra, received 5,000 chickens from the central government to improve the economy of residents in the area through livestock businesses.

The handover of the aid was carried out on the sidelines of the Cattle Disease Workshop, namely Mouth and Nail Disease (PMK) and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in Pariaman which was attended by 100 participants.
Pariaman gets 5,000 chickens, 35 tons of animal feed, 500 bottles of vitamins for livestock, 500 bottles of medicine, and 500 disinfectants for cage cleaners.
This assistance is the first stage that will be followed by the second stage so that the potential for an increase in the economy of citizens in the livestock sector increases.
Genius said breeders in Pariaman should maintain livestock health as well as possible so as not to get sick to minimize losses.
According to him, disease in livestock does not only interfere with production but also causes death in livestock if it is not handled properly. Therefore, he asked the workshop participants to understand the disease that is likely to attack livestock.
The health of livestock is very important to support people's food needs. If livestock is disturbed by disease, it must be that the production of these livestock will decrease which will also disrupt public health," he said.

"For stage two later based on the request of Mayor Genius Umar, we will also get back assistance in the form of chickens and goat livestock," he said.
Although Pariaman is in a green zone for PMK, his party continues to anticipate by providing understanding to farmers regarding disease in livestock, especially PMK and LSD.
