Preventing Traffic Jams, Pospam Simpang Jomin Closes A Number Of U-Turns

KARAWANG To prevent congestion at the peak of the second wave of flow (reverse) which is expected to take place today, Sunday, April 30 and Monday 1 May, the Simpang Jomin Security Post (Pospam), Karawang, West Java, has prepared to close a number of rounds (u-turns).

"If we do the opening, there will be stuck there and people going to Jakarta will be stuck, so we make one direction to the Sasak Gambeng gas station and we make u-turns there," said Head of the Simpang Jomin Post, Iptu Muhammad Rizki Anshori quoting Antara, Sunday, April 30.

Simpang Jomin is one of the points of concern because it is the main route for travelers and drivers who use two-wheeled vehicles and car drivers who avoid toll roads.

Anshori said that on Sunday afternoon the traffic flow situation from the direction of Cirebon-Jakarta and vice versa was observed to be busy smoothly.

"According to my observations, the current traffic flow to Jakarta and Cirebon is still the same because there are still people who have just left for homecoming," he said.

According to him, the increase in the volume of vehicles usually occurs in the morning at around 06.00-10.00 WIB, while the spike in the afternoon occurs after 15.00 WIB and 19.00 WIB.

In addition to traffic engineering, said Anshori, Pospam Simpang Jomin also has a motorcycle cycling police team tasked with breaking down congestion nodes and providing assistance to people whose vehicles are experiencing problems.

"Jomin's post also has a team to solve it by using a motorbike to break down congestion nodes such as a strike or a driving vehicle on the shoulder of the road," said Anshori.

He also reminded his staff to be patient with road users who are sometimes carried away by emotions due to being trapped in traffic engineering.

"I also remind the ranks to be patient and understand if there are road users who are emotional because they must be tired due to long trips and the weather is also very hot, so I remind them to understand," he said.
