Walkot Ita Calls Repairing Alternative Routes For Homecoming In Semarang Continues To Be Speeded

JATENG - Mayor (Walkot) Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu said that repairing potholes, especially in alternative routes, continues to be accelerated to welcome the flow of Eid Al-Fitr 2023 homecoming.

"I said earlier, alternative routes. The route in Palir has been paved. Then, the flow towards this Gunungpati belongs to the province," said Ita, Hevearita's nickname in Semarang, Central Java, Monday, April 10, as reported by Antara.

Likewise, he said, Jalan Brigadier General Sudiarto, which is the connecting access for Mranggen, Demak, and the center of Semarang City, is also under the authority of the Central Java Provincial Government.

This was conveyed after a coordination meeting with the ranks of the regional leadership communication forum (forkompinda) regarding readiness to welcome the homecoming flow and back to Lebaran 2023.

"At yesterday, I asked Mr. Gub (Governor of Central Java) for it to be smoothed. Because there are still many holes there," he said.

For alternative routes in urban areas, he said, it is the responsibility of the Semarang City Government, in this regard the Public Works Office to smooth the route.

"God willing, later it can be more detailed. Ask for input from the sub-district and village heads as well. They have (regions) with potholes. It is impossible for the DPU itself to see and monitor it," he said.

This means, said Ita, it requires the activeness of the village heads and sub-district heads to convey the problem of damaged roads in the area they support so that they can be repaired immediately and smoothly in Lebaran 2023.

Previously, the Semarang City DPU had mobilized a team to continue combing and checking the condition of alternative routes in Atlas City for the convenience of travelers ahead of the 2023 Eid homecoming flow.

The Head of the Semarang City DPU, Sih Riaung, mentioned the alternative routes in question, including Jalan Bumirejo, Jalan Beringin, Jalan Wolter Monginsidi and the Sigar Bencah route, Tembalang.

"There will be many guests (from) going home. Even though it's a long holiday, we still have activities. This team works, check the conditions first. If there is a hole, for example, it will be patched," he said.

Currently, he said, at least 10 teams have been deployed by the Semarang City DPU, including from the official technical implementation unit (UPTD) to comb the routes that are the access of the travelers.

"Yesterday there were 10 teams, yes, both from the field (DPU) and UPTD. For a day there were almost 100 tons (asphalts) of hotmixes, yes, to repair these roads ahead of the flow of homecoming," said Rianung.
