Eye Witness Sees Kuningan Regent Joining Accident Victims After Collision On Jalan Martadinata

KUNINGAN - The official car of the Regent of Kuningan, West Java, Acep Purnama was involved in a traffic accident by hitting a motorcycle and a repair shop. Three people died in this deadly incident while the other was injured. "Yes, we are currently handling a traffic accident involving the official car of the Kuningan Regent," said Head of the Kuningan Police Traffic Unit, AKP Vino Lestari in Kuningan, Antara, Monday, April 3. Meanwhile, eye witness Udin Sarnudin said the accident occurred around 14.00 WIB on Jalan RE Martadinata, Sindanggung District, Kuningan Regency. "There were four victims, of whom three died and one was injured," said Udin when asked by a number of media crew. Udin said that when the incident happened, the Regent of Kuningan Acep Purnama was in a vehicle, and immediately got off after a traffic accident. In fact, continued Udin, the Regent of Acep had helped lift one of the victims who died to be put into an ambulance. According to him, the Acep Regent's official car not only hit a motorcycle, but also hit a workshop on the side of the road. "The regent had stepped down after the incident, and admitted that he would be responsible. Meanwhile, the regent's condition was fine, no one was injured," he said. He added that when the Kuningan Regent Acep Purnama's official car was also escorted by a patwal vehicle, and when it was about to overtake other vehicles, motorbikes came from the opposite direction, resulting in a traffic accident. Currently, officers are still evacuating official vehicles and motorbikes involved in the accident, while the fatalities and injuries have been taken to the hospital.

"The victim has been taken to the hospital, both dead and injured," said Udin.
