Pretrial Rejected, Audi A6 Driver Hits Cianjur Student To Death Remains A Suspect

JABAR - The pretrial hit-and-run case with the death victim Selvi Amalia Nuraini (19) filed by the applicant or suspect Sugeng Guruh Gautama (41) against the Cianjur Police was rejected by the Cianjur District Court (PN).

The single judge at the Cianjur District Court, Hera Polosia Destiny, stated that she rejected all of the applicant's claims because the determination of the suspect was in accordance with the procedures in the Criminal Procedure Code.

"Based on various considerations, the judge decided to reject the pretrial request from Sugeng Guruh Gautama Legiman because the determination of the applicant as a suspect, as in the legal facts at trial, had been carried out at the start or the initial evidence was sufficient and lawful," she said in a hearing at the District Court Cianjur, West Java (West Java), Monday 27 February, as reported by Antara.

After considering the results of the case and the police report in question, in essence, the action was based on a valid assignment order and assignment letter and the provisions that apply to the Police.

The attorney for the respondent AKBP Agus Jamaludin, said that until the investigation was in accordance with the applicable rules and laws, the judge decided to reject all lawsuits. Accordingly, the police will continue their investigation.

"Everything is in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, so the police will continue their investigation into the suspect driver of the luxury sedan that caused the death of the Cianjur student," he said.

Meanwhile, the suspect's legal team, Anita H. Nasrulloh, expressed dissatisfaction with the judge's decision. However, she still respects the decision.

"We respect the assembly because, as stipulated in the law, one cannot appeal, this decision is final," she said.

In this case, the suspect, Sugeng Guruh Gautama, was the driver of the Audi A6 that crashed into Selvi Amelua Nuraini, a law student at Suryakancana University (Unsur) Cianjur, to death.
