JAKARTA - The joint team is now trying another strategy to be able to evacuate Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Rusid Hartono. Weather modification is an option to dispel the fog that interferes with visibility during the Jambi Police Chief's evacuation process.

National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo admitted that he was trying to modify the weather. The foggy weather hindered the evacuation process for Jambi Police Chief Rusid Hartono and his entourage. Even though it is now the third day of air search and rescue (SAR).

"We are working on how to modify the weather so that the fog can be removed and the view of the location of the incident in Kerinci Regency, Jambi is really clear so that evacuation by air can be carried out properly," said General Sigit at the National Police Headquarters, Tuesday 21 February.

Evacuation by air is considered more effective than by land. Because of the terrain and the distance travelled by land, it can take 12 hours on foot, while a dirt bike cannot go through hilly terrain.

However, if evacuation by air cannot be carried out due to the air factor, his party is preparing a land route SAR team to evacuate the Jambi Police Chief and his entourage.

"Currently we have deployed an additional team to prepare for the possibility of us conducting ground search and rescue," he said.

To support evacuation by land route, the joint SAR team conducted mapping to create the closest and safe route for the evacuation of victims. The goal is that the injuries suffered by the Jambi Police Chief and his entourage do not get worse.

"Because it really takes special steps so that it doesn't add to injuries. On the other hand, things can go well and the safety of our friends who are currently injured is our priority," said Sigit.

On the third day after the emergency landing of the Bell 412 SP helicopter belonging to the National Police with registration number P-3001 carrying three crew members and five passengers, evacuation efforts were still underway.

A total of four helicopter units were deployed in the SAR effort today. However, until this news was published, the evacuation process for the Jambi Police Chief and his entourage was still ongoing.

The Police helicopter made an emergency landing carrying eight passengers consisting of Jambi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Police Rusdi Hartono, Director of Criminal Investigation Police Commissioner Andri Ananta, Jambi Regional Police Directorate Police, Commissioner Police Muchael Bumbunan, Korpspripim Polda Kompol A Yani Jambi and an ADC Jambi Police Chief, as well as three crew members helicopter AKP Ali, AKP Amos F, Aipda Susilo.
