Alleged Money Laundering, DPR Suggests Forming A Meikarta Special Committee And Summons John Riady

JAKARTA - In response to public complaints regarding the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU), the Republic of Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR) proposed the establishment of a Maikarta Special Committee (Pansus) and summoned Lippo Karawaci CEO John Riady.

Member of Commission VI of the Republic of Indonesia DPR, Andre Rosiade, in his statement regarding the formation of the Meikarta (Pansus) so that the DPR can thoroughly investigate the Meikarta case, especially regarding whether there were allegations of money laundering in the Meikarta mega project.

Not only that, Andre also proposed inviting the CEO of PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk John Riady to attend a meeting with Commission VI after the recess session.

This was emphasized by Andre during the Commission VI DPR RI Public Hearing Meeting with the Main Director of PT Lippo Cikarang and the President Director of PT Mahkota Sentosa Utama in the context of discussions related to public complaints about Meikarta which were held in the Commission VI Meeting Room, Nusantara I Building DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta , Monday 13 February.

“I propose two things so that this can be clearly disclosed immediately. First, it can be seen that at Lippo, this CEO knows a lot about (Meikarta's) problems compared to the President Director," he said.

"So I propose that after the recess period ends, one of the first we invite, namely John Riady, to be more bright. Second, there is nothing wrong after this meeting, we report to our respective factions to get ready to collect signatures to form the Meikarta Special Committee, continued André.

The politician from the Gerindra Party faction further emphasized the purpose of forming the Special Committee as well as being a warning that nothing is stronger in the Republic of Indonesia than the interests of the people.

"So that this becomes a lesson, don't be a challenger in this Republic. Nothing is stronger in this Republic than the interests of the Indonesian people. Don't let the interests of the oligarchs have their own will in this Republic," said Andre.
