Wet Eyes, Kuat Ma'ruf Rejects To Be Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison, Files An Appeal

JAKARTA - Defendant Kuat Ma'ruf said he would appeal the 15-year sentence he received in the premeditated murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J.

Kuat Ma'ruf made this statement after the panel of judges officially closed the trial which took place at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel).

"I will file an appeal," Kuat told reporters, Tuesday, February 14.

With reddened eyes, Kuat said that the reason for filing an appeal was that he had no intention of killing Brigadier J.

In fact, he was not in the least bit involved in the murder plan hatched by Ferdy Sambo.

"Appeal, because I didn't kill and I didn't plan," said Kuat.

Kuat Ma'ruf was found guilty in the premeditated murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J. Thus, the panel of judges sentenced Ferdy Sambo's household assistant (ART) to 15 years in prison.

In his verdict, the actions or actions of Kuat Ma'ruf in the series of premeditated murder cases are believed to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.

"Sentenced the defendant with a prison term of 15 years," said Chief Judge Wahyu Iman Santoso.
