PKB Prepares DKI Dapil For Kaesang If He Wants To Advance In The 2024 Legislative Election

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) is preparing an electoral area (dapil) for DKI Jakarta if President Joko Widodo's youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep intends to run as a candidate for the 2024 legislative candidate (bacaleg) from his party.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Head of PKB Jazilul Fawaid, in response to Kaesang Pangarep, who was interested in joining politics.

According to Jazilul, Kaesang's wish is in line with his family's progress in politics. It is known that his father was a president who departed from a regional head, his siblings and brother-in-law also served as mayors.

"Thumbs up for Mas Kaesang who intends to enter politics. Yes, it's like the Javanese proverb 'kacang ra ninggal lanjaran', his roots are already in politics," said Jazilul when asked about Kaesang's interest in politics, Thursday, January 26.

According to the Deputy Speaker of the MPR, Kaesang was indirectly involved in political activities. Because of that, Jazilul invited the owner and main director of Persis Solo to join PKB.

Jazilul said that the PKB would prepare a ticket for Kaesang to take part in the 2024 Legislative Election, preferably the DKI or other electoral districts.

"In my opinion, while studying try to try to advance to become Bacaleg DPR RI, that is the closest political stage. Currently, PKB is opening registration for Bacalegs, if Mas Kaesang is interested, please join, we are preparing the DKI Dapil or other Dapils," said Jazilul.

Meanwhile for the Pilkada contestation, according to Jazilul, the stages are still far away because it will only be held in November 2024. PKB, he said, has not yet discussed this matter.

"In my opinion, if the Pilkada advance is still a long way off, PKB has not yet discussed the Pilkada. However, we will open the door in time," said Jazilul.
