Bogor Street Festival 2023, Suryakencana Chinatown Section Closed For 10 Hours

JAKARTA - The access to the Suryakencana Chinatown road in Central Bogor District, Bogor City will be closed for 10 hours on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

The closure was carried out following the Suryakencana road section which will be used for the 2023 Bogor Street Festival Cap Go Meh (CGM).

This was also known from the results of the cross-sectoral coordination meeting for the security of the Bogor Street Festival CGM 2023, which took place at the Main Hall of Lt II Parama Satwika Bogor City Police on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

"So, we will close Suryakencana Street later, starting at 13 or 14 o'clock. It is estimated that the event will finish at around 23 o'clock," said the Head of Ops for the Bogor City Police, Kompol Prasetyo Purbo in a statement, Thursday, January 26.

According to Kompol Prasetyo, in later activities, his party will not only be limited to closing the Suryakencana road. Rather, it will carry out security in a number of alleys or small roads, so that no vehicles enter Suryakencana road.

"So let it be clear, so that no vehicles will enter the Suryakencana road," said Kompol Prasetyo.

"Hopefully it can be faster (the event's activities are finished), so that we can open the Suryakencana road more quickly," he said.

Meanwhile, Bogor City Police Chief, Kombes Pol Bismo Teguh Prakoso said, Bogor Street Festival CGM 2023 would be an interesting event, especially after the Covid-19 Pandemic. Of course, the euphoria of the people must be anticipated and secured.

In terms of security, the Polresta together with the TNI, related agencies, and mass organizations will work together to ensure that the event runs smoothly and safely.

"We will prepare from technical, traffic flow, medical, firefighting and preparing evacuation points," he said.

It is known, Bogor Street Festival CGM 2023 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 5 February 2023. The event will be held from 15:00 - 00:00 WIB.
