Depressed After Layoffs, A Man Stole Motorbikes To Buy Food

JAKARTA - A young man with the initials FH was caught stealing a motorbike in a residential area, Keutamaan Dalam Street, Krukut, Tamansari, West Jakarta. The perpetrator was caught by the victim of the motorbike owner while carrying out his theft.

Kapolsek Metro Tamansari AKBP Rohman Yonky Dilatha said the theft occurred when the victim named Hadi left the house and saw the perpetrator allegedly breaking the ignition of the victim's motorbike.

The victim had reprimanded the perpetrator by asking what the perpetrator was doing. Then the offender replied that he was repairing the cable on his motorbike.

Hearing the perpetrator's confession, the victim then got angry and finally shouted at the perpetrator. After the victim shouted "thief" finally invited residents to leave the house. The perpetrator was then successfully secured at the RW post and handed over to the Tamansari Metro Police.

After conducting an investigative examination, it was discovered that the perpetrators were determined to commit acts of theft because they were pressed for economic needs.

"The perpetrator was forced to steal a motorbike because he needed to pay for rent and to eat. The perpetrator was forced to steal a motorbike because of stress, he was laid off (terminated from work)," said AKBP Rohman when confirmed, Wednesday, January 18.
