JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) to clean up. This step must be taken to prevent corrupt practices related to hajj funds. Pahala said, there is a difference in the definition of the cost of organizing the pilgrimage (BPIH) to the mechanism for determining and reporting accountability as regulated in Law Number 34 of 2014 and Law Number 8 of 2019. "If examined by Law Number 8 of 2019, it is considered to ignore the functions of BPKH in controlling and supervising Hajj finances," said Pahala. In addition, Pahala said that the performance of placement and investment of funds was not optimal, so the value of the benefits was not optimal. "In fact, the selection of BPS-BPIH, the value of benefits management, is potentially prone to corruption because not all of them go through the auction process, but based on a request from BPS-BPIH," he explained. Then, the KPK also saw that the supervision of the distribution of benefit funds at BPKH was impressed because it was without stages. Thus, irregularities are prone to occur.
