JAKARTA - The well-known Ukrainian arms manufacturer Kalashnikov is analyzing combat experience and input from the military regarding the use of Chukavin sniper rifles on the Ukrainian battlefield.

"We are constantly receiving feedback from our military personnel participating in special military operations. This is the task our president has set for us," said Kalashnikov Group President Alan Lushnikov, launching TASS December 26.

"Our company received feedback from the military. We are consistently making adjustments to our products, based on input on their combat work," he said.

"In connection with our new firearms that have been supplied to the special military operations zone - and these are the Chukavin sniper rifle (SVCh) and the PPK-20 Kalashnikov light machine gun - we are carefully analyzing the feedback and analyzing it," said Lushnikov.

The President of the Kalashnikov Group cited the latest AK-12 assault rifle as an example of adjustments made to weapons-making products.

As he pointed out, today's production of the AK-12 is "substantively different" from firearms that the company started supplying to troops in 2018.

In addition, the Kalashnikov Group also received feedback on the use of its unmanned aerial vehicle combat, including the latest innovations, said Lushnikov.

As previously reported, Group President Kalashnikov said in August the latest Chukavin sniper rifle would arrive for troops this year. Graduated state trials on October 5, Chukavin was in preparation to soon enter service in the Russian Army.

Chukavin is a semi-automatic sniper rifle equipped with a 7.62x54 mm and a 7.62x51mm (.308 Win) cartridge. The 7,62x54mm version is compatible with the Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD) magazine, the sniper rifle that he will replace.

The SVCh sniper rifle was first introduced at the 2017 Army forum, where Russian President Vladimir Putin fired several shots with it. Since then, the rifle has been tested by various branches of the Russian Armed Forces in the context of the state homologation process, which it successfully passed.
