SOLO - Mayor of Solo, Central Java, Gibran Rakabuming Raka supports the plan to lift the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) by the central government. Moreover, he assessed that the current condition of the spread of COVID-19 was not as bad as at the beginning of the emergence of the virus in Indonesia. "This means that the virus has started to soften. Since the last variant is no longer dangerous, not deadly, the trend is decreasing. The positive is also not very severe (his condition)," he said. Although he wants the realization of the plan to be accelerated, he asked the public to continue to obey the current regulations. "We are waiting until the decision when it will be revoked, if it is still in accordance with the process," he said. In fact, as a form of easing to the community, on New Year's Eve, his party also allows fireworks and the implementation of car free night (CFN). Meanwhile, related to the acceleration of vaccination, he said that currently it is still being carried out. However, the enthusiasm of the community to participate in booster vaccinations is not too great. "However, we still lack acceleration, which has not yet been vaccinated. This (community) is not enthusiastic. Even so, even though there is no PPKM if it can still be equipped with the vaccine," said Gibran. Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the government at the end of 2022 would likely state that PPKM would stop. "Today, yesterday, our daily cases were at 1,200, and maybe later at the end of the year, we will declare that our PSBB, PPKM stops," he said.
