Only Rizieq Shihab Is Detained, Five Other Suspects Must Report Regarding The Petamburan Crowd Case

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has decided not to detain five other suspects in a case of alleged crowd violation and health protocol (prokoes) in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. However, they are required to report every week.

"On Monday and Thursday, twice a week, we must report here (Polda Metro Jaya)," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Tuesday, 15 Drsember.

The five suspects, among others, Chairman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Ahmad Sabri Lubis; The Commander of the Islamic Defenders Army (LPI), Maman Suryadi; Haris Ubaidillah; Ali Alwi Alatas; and Idrus.

The reason they are only subject to compulsory reporting is because they only receive criminal threats under five years. In this case they are only threatened with a sentence of 1 year in prison in accordance with Article 93 of Law Number 6 concerning Health Quarantine.

"Because Article 93 of Law Number 6 concerning Health Quarantine is suspected, where the threat is one year," he said.

The investigators named six suspects in a case of alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) at an event in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

They were named suspects on Thursday, December 10. In this case, five suspects were charged under Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine.

Meanwhile, Rizieq Shihab was charged with Articles 160 of the Criminal Code and 216 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a six-year prison sentence. For this reason, the police detained Rizieq Shihab for the first 20 days from 12 December. Currently he is in a drug detention cell at Polda Metro Jaya.
