WEST JAVA - National COVID-19 cases have crept up again after the entry of the new subvariant Omicron XBB into the country. The COVID-19 Task Force Coordination Meeting (Rakor) which was attended by the Head of Regency or City Health Offices throughout West Java was asked to be active again.

The request was made by the Deputy Governor of West Java, Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, as a form of readiness to face the daily spike in COVID-19 cases.

"We ask the mayors and regents, as heads of the task forces in each region, to hold another meeting with the task forces at the sub-district and village levels. COVID-19. That's what we hope for", said the Deputy Governor at Gedung Sate Bandung, quoted from Antara, Monday, November 14.

He said, since some time ago his party had appealed to related parties such as health workers in every district/city not to be careless about the daily cases of COVID-19.

In fact, he continued, his party had directly instructed the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) at the district/city level to be alert in case of an increase in daily cases of COVID-19 in the area.

"From the start, we should not be careless and others. So I have been assigned to several hospitals. To Cimahi City, to Bogor, to other districts to prepare hospitals in case there is an unwanted spike. But, that doesn't mean it's challenging. But, we are sure that if there is such a spike in West Java, the health workers are ready, the regents and mayors have budgeted", he said.

Based on data from the West Java Province Information and Coordination Center (Pikobar) as of November 13, 2022, in West Java, there were 706 new cases of COVID-19.

So in total, there are 10,672 people in self-care and self-isolation. The number of active cases has increased since the beginning of October 2022 which is still 4,805 cases.

Meanwhile, the occupancy of beds for treating COVID-19 patients at hospitals in West Java reached 10.99 percent, or 684 beds out of 6,226 beds in 338 hospitals in West Java.

Then for the COVID-19 vaccination, of the 42.61 million people targeted for vaccination, who had received dose 1 reached 87.03 percent, then dose 2 was 75.08 percent, and those who received dose 3 or booster had 35.99 percent.
