BENGKULU - Kaur Resort Police appealed to the people in Bengkulu Province to temporarily postpone their trip to Lampung Province due to a collapsed bridge. "We urge those who want to go to Lampung to postpone or wait until the streets return to normal," said Kasatlantas Polres Kaur Iptu Jangkung Riyanto when confirmed, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 13. Jangkung said this was done so that people would not be stuck in traffic and long queues.

This is because roads in the Pekon Laay area, Karyapengawa District, West Coast Regency, have collapsed so that they cannot be passed since around 23.30 WIB Saturday 12 November. For this incident, traffic flow on the Sumatra Cross Road connecting Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province to West Coast Regency, and West Lampung Regency Lampung Province was paralyzed.

Until now, the Resort Police are coordinating with the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Office, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the West Lampung PLN are making improvements, because the bridge is entering Lampung Province. "It is not certain when the repair will be completed and the cross road can be rerun because the team is still making repairs," he said. It is known that the collapsed bridge that entered the West Lampung area was caused by eroded water and also damaged last October.
