Golkar Meeting With Projo Affirms KIB Will Continue Jokowi's Legacy

JAKARTA - Political observer from Al Azhar University Ujang Komarudin considers there is a relationship between the Golkar Party and Pro Jokowi Volunteers (Projo) ahead of the 2024 General Election.

He considered that the recent meeting between Golkar and Projo was also a symbol of their closeness to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). During the meeting, it was agreed that the two leaders were waiting for the direction of the head of state regarding the presidential candidate.

"Airlangga once said that the KIB presidential candidate was waiting for President Jokowi's direction, as was Projo," said Ujang, Thursday, November 10.

According to Ujang, the meeting with Jokowi's volunteers was not a coincidence. On several occasions, the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) also mentioned the legacy of the current government. KIB said it would continue the legacy of President Jokowi.

"The United Indonesia Coalition is also said to be continuing the legacy of President Jokowi," he added.

Previously, the General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto together with the General Chairperson of Projo Budi Arie met at the Golkar DPP Office, Slipi, West Jakarta, Monday, November 7.

"The friendly meeting with the Musra national committee was held in order to listen to the Musra organizers, which have been held several times and will also be held in several other areas," said Airlangga.

Meanwhile, the General Chair of Projo, Budi Arie, said that the meeting with Golkar did not only discuss the results of the People's Deliberation (Musra). However, Budi said that in each of his political safaris, Jokowi volunteers who are members of Projo will talk about the national and populist agenda.

"And this is the (goal) to the Golkar office, because we also want to discuss and convey the results of the Musra not only the names of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates but also the actual issues that are really needed by the residents or the community where the Musra is held," said Budi.
