Consistently Carrying Airlangga, Golkar Calls Akbar Tandjung's Support For Anies Is Just Congratulations

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Golkar Party's DPP Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung emphasized that the Chairman of the Honorary Council Akbar Tandjung was still consistent with the decision of the National Conference and Rapimnas Golkar which decided Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate (Capres) 2024.

According to Doli, Akbar Tandjung's statement of support for Anies Baswedan was only a normative statement as congratulatory because it had been carried by NasDem as a presidential candidate.

“Actually, it's just a normative statement. Talk about a character's response to someone's candidacy. It's just like saying congratulations (to Anies)," said Doli in a statement, Wednesday, October 5.

Doli added that Akbar's statement did not specifically refer to the 2024 presidential election. Because Akbar said the sentence "also support him (Anies Baswedan)" which means explicitly because he attended an event that Anies also attended.

This means that Akbar is still consistently holding the results of the decision to carry Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate in 2024.

In fact, said Doli, Akbar's figure always came down to greet the public and promoted Airlangga as a candidate for president from the Golkar Party.

"So far, until now, Mr. Akbar (Tandjung) is still consistent in party decisions and actively participates in socializing the candidacy of Airlangga Hartarto from the Golkar Party," said Doli.

The chairman of Commission II of the DPR emphasized that all Golkar cadres are still solid and adhere to the results of the National Conference and Rapimnas decisions to continue to encourage and win Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate in 2024.

Moreover, Akbar is a senior figure in Golkar who also serves as the Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Golkar party, who has always prioritized the party's political agendas throughout his life.

"As a result of the National Conference and Rapimnas, Golkar has a presidential candidate, namely Airlangga Hartarto. And there, there was Akbar Tandjung, not only as a senior figure, but also Chairman of the Honorary Council. At the National Conference forum, it was agreed unanimously, Airlangga was the presidential candidate for 2024," said Doli.

Previously, during the inauguration ceremony of the Tritura 66 Monument which was relocated to Menteng Park, Akbar Tandjung had praised the candidacy of Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan by the NasDem Party.
