JAKARTA - The East Kalimantan Provincial Government is ready to maintain and preserve customary forest areas as one of the strategies in spatial planning in the area.

Acting Regional Secretary for East Kalimantan, Riza Indra Riadi explained that the priority for preserving customary forest areas has been determined by laws and regulations, such as Paser Regency and West Kutai Regency.

Riza, who was present on behalf of the Governor of East Kalimantan, conveyed the answer to the submission of the general views of the East Kalimantan DPRD factions on the Regional Planning Plan (RTRW) of East Kalimantan Province in 2022-2042, at Building D of the East Kalimantan DPRD.

He explained that with the Regional Regulation on RTRW for East Kalimantan Province in 2022-2042, customary forest areas through indigenous law communities were able to play an important role and make a major contribution in the development and improvement of the regional economy and encourage towards a more advanced region.
