JAKARTA - Nigeria is exploring the potential for defense equipment cooperation in Indonesia by visiting the National Private Defense Industry Association. The National Private Defense Industry Association (Pinhantanas) received a visit from the NASENI delegation from Abuja Nigeria on Wednesday, September 14 at the Bhimasena Building, Jatinangor, West Java.
Pinhantanas promoted to the NASENI delegation that the security defense equipment industry (Alpahankam) in Indonesia has produced a variety of technology-based defense products as well as explored the potential for cooperation between the two countries, according to a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.
The NASENI delegation led by Professor Muhammad Sani Haruna as the Executive Vice Chairman was accompanied by Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia, Usman Ary Ogah, brought in as well as fifteen people consisting of NASENI members and Nigerian lawmakers and government elements.
On this occasion, the General Chairperson of Pinhantanas, Evi Lusviana, stated that the security defense equipment products (Alpahankam) produced by Pinhantanas members had long supplied the needs of the TNI and Police as well as the needs of several other government institutions such as BAKAMLA and BNPB.
In addition, Pinhantanas members also produce products not only for military needs but also for civilian needs such as solar panels and high-tech equipment to clear water.
Evi said the opportunity to cooperate with Nigeria through NASENI was very wide open in terms of procurement of finished goods from Pinhantanas, technology transfer cooperation, and other forms of strategic cooperation.

Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI Professor, Muhammad Sani Haruni, in his remarks expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to witness several Indonesian-produced Alpahankam products.
"We are grateful for the invitation to this event because if there was no such event, we would never know that Indonesia has an association of non-governmental defense equipment manufacturers that produces a variety of products that can be collaborated with Nigeria", said Professor Muhammed Sani Haruna.
After listening to a brief presentation on the profile and products of Pinhantanas, the delegates were invited to the exhibition room to witness various products of Pinhantanas members including several special vehicles in the parking lot of the Bhimasena Building, one of which was a field kitchen vehicle (Randurlap) which was one of the special vehicle products produced by Pinhantanas member, PT Prasandha Dumayasa.
