MenPAN RB Unveils Special Formation for Recruiting ASN in Papua

JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN RB) Azwar Anas said there was a special formation for the recruitment of state civil servants (ASN) in Papua. Later, the largest quota will be given to the sons of the region.

Azwar said this step was the result of the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). He said the president paid great attention to the Cendrawasih Earth.

"A special formation for Papua and according to the president's direction, Papua needs attention", said Azwar in a written statement, Friday, September 16.

Azwar said the quota for Papuans reached 80 percent of the total needs. This step is taken to prevent vacancies if at any time there is a transfer.

"This year we made a policy for ASN in Papua, 80 percent of which is filled by Papuans, 20 percent from outside. Because if many are filled from outside, they will move again, Papua is empty", he said.

Azwar ensured that the government paid attention to honorary teachers and health workers. He said more than a million honorary workers and health workers were appointed by government employees with work agreements (PPPK) in 2022.

"Actually, what we prioritize according to the president's program is education and health. We will complete the PPPK. This year the total appointments are 1,086,000. A total of 983 thousand of them are in the regions", said the former Banyuwangi regent.

Azwar also highlighted the statement by the chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, who promised According to him to appoint honorary teachers when he became Indonesia's leader. According to him, the government of President Jokowi has actually done it.
