"West Java is a province with an autonomous region. In which the mayor and regent are elected by the Pilkada so that they have autonomous authority in the implementation, development including permits for activities and matters at the City / Regency level," Ridwan Kamil told reporters at Bareskrim Polri. , Jakarta, Friday, 20 November.

The man who is often called Kang Emil said that with an autonomous system, regions have their own policies. Not all problems are the responsibility of the Governor.

There are six matters which the governor said that Kang Emil cannot intervene. Namely security, defense, justice, religion, foreign relations and fiscal.

"So it is under this condition of authority that we must understand these events in the statutory regulations," he continued.

Ridwan Kamil's clarification at Bareskrim Polri was related to the alleged violation of health protocol when there was a crowd of supporters of Rizieq Shihab, some time ago.

The crowd happened when Rizieq attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the pesantren. His arrival attracted public attention, but many did not apply health protocols by not wearing masks.
