JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan again held an event at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, North Jakarta. The event entitled Jakarnaval was held on Sunday, August 14.

This Jakarnival is free, aka free of charge. However, for visitors who want to attend this event, they still buy an entrance ticket to the Ancol Taman Impian area according to the regular tariff set by the area manager.

Head of the DKI Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Andhika Permata said that the Formula E circuit is a suitable place to hold the Jakarnaval because it is a venue with international standards.

"With a good track and stands and good crowd management, everything has been facilitated at this international Formula E circuit. Why did we choose this, so that's one of the reasons and most importantly we need to activate the venues owned by Jakarta for international events ," said Andhika in the Ancol area, Thursday, August 11.

Andhika said that the Jakarnaval was held as a form of appreciation from the DKI Jakarta Government to creative economy activists and communities in the capital city who have survived through difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This activity is presented as an effort to revive the tourism industry in Jakarta, and is expected to be able to drive the local economy based on tourism, culture, and the creative economy. Hopefully the event will be smooth and successful," he said.

Andhika said, this series of Jakarnaval activities has been taking place since Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Ancol Art Market with the "Road to Jakarnaval" Talk Show with the theme of Urban Tourism. Meanwhile, the peak schedule for the carnival event will be on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Jakarta E-Prix International Circuit, Ancol.

"For people who want to visit the event, it is expected to remain orderly and obey existing regulations. Also make sure to wear masks and have the third vaccine booster," explained Andhika.

Later, the series of carnival events will be filled with float parades, musical plays, marching bands, and interesting performances from the community of cultural arts activists in Jakarta. After watching the parade, visitors will also be entertained by the appearance of a series of well-known artists, such as Armada Band, Lyodra, and Juicy Luicy.
