Lawyer Explains Reasons For Bharada E Accepting His Superior's Order To Shoot Brigadier J

JAKARTA - Richard Eliezir Pudihang Lumiu alias Bharada E also shot Brigadier J because he received orders from his superiors. The team of lawyers said that his client was forced to do so because he was unable to refuse the order.

"Yes, they are police. He has to obey orders from his superiors," said Bharada E's lawyer, Deolipa Yumara, to reporters, Monday, August 8.

Deolipa claims that within the Polri institution, there are rules that stipulate that all subordinates must obey orders from their superiors. However, the lawyer did not specify the rules in question.

Deolipa only mentioned that for that reason Bharada E was determined to shoot Brigadier J.

"There are laws and regulations that go down, there are regulations for the police who work from subordinates to receive orders from superiors," said Deolipa.

Previously, another member of Bharada E's team of lawyers, M. Burhanuddin, said that his client had been ordered by his superiors to shoot.

It was stated clearly that his superior, Bharada E, who gave the order, was at the scene.

"Told to shoot. Shoot, shoot, I see," he said.

Brigadier J died at the official residence of the Head of the Propam Division of the National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Friday, July 8.

In this case, the National Police team has named two suspects. They were Richard Eliezir Pudihang Lumiu or Bharada E and Brigadier Ricky Rizal.
