JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited volunteer leader Andi Gani Nuna Wea to the Jakarta Presidential Palace.

The founder of Jokowi's Friends of Labor Volunteers admitted that he was invited suddenly by the President on Sunday (7/8) night

He stated that he spoke one-on-one on various topics such as Indonesian and global political developments.

"Earlier, from 10 to 15 minutes, we met with the President for about two hours, talking alone about political developments in Indonesia and global politics," Andi Gani told reporters after the meeting reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.

Andi Gani did not want to reveal details of the talks with the President, but he admitted that he had represented volunteers to provide input on policies that could be taken by the government.

On the other hand, Andi Gani admitted that he had discussed further about the plan for the People's Deliberation (Musra) which was initiated by various groups of Jokowi's Volunteers.

He asked various groups, especially political parties, not to be too reactive to the People's Deliberation plan, which he called an expression of people's democracy and not only consist of the Jokowi Volunteer group.

"We also discussed the People's Deliberation which will be held in Bandung and it is an expression. So the parties don't need to feel that something is being done at the Musra, because this is an ordinary expression of democracy from the people," he said.

"Because in Bandung, August 28, 2022, not only volunteers will be present. All elements of society are present there, there are fishermen, laborers, farmers, and women's representatives," said Andi Gani.

Andi Gani admitted that there was no certainty regarding President Jokowi's willingness to accept the invitation to attend the People's Deliberation in Bandung, West Java.

Previously, a number of volunteers had sent a similar invitation to the President when they attended a meeting of volunteers and loyalists with Jokowi at the Bogor Palace, West Java, Friday (29/7).
