COVID-19 Update As Of November 9: 34,365 Specimens Checked, Positive Cases Add 2,853

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. As of Monday, November 9, there were 34,365 specimens that had been examined, with the results of the addition of 2,853 positive COVID-19 cases.

"There was an additional 2,853 positive cases, bringing the total accumulation of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia to 440,569," said the Ministry of Health as quoted by VOI from a written statement, Monday, November 9.

In addition to the addition of positive cases, there were an additional 3,968 recovered cases so that the current total accumulation reached 372,266.

"Meanwhile, the number of cases died per day has reached 75 with a total accumulation of 14,689," they wrote.

The Ministry of Health also explained that there were five provinces that experienced the most cases, namely DKI Jakarta with a total of 716 cases, Central Java with 619 cases, West Java with 330 cases, East Java with 234 cases, and West Sumatra with 126 cases.

Meanwhile, the five provinces with the highest number of recovered patients were DKI Jakarta with 1,124 cases, West Java 920 cases, East Kalimantan 309 cases, East Java 242 cases, and Aceh 203 cases.

In addition, there were four provinces that did not report additional cases, such as Bangka Belitung, West Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and Papua.

Meanwhile, provinces with fewer than 10 cases added were South Kalimantan, West Papua, Bengkulu, North Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Gorontalo, Aceh and East Nusa Tenggara.

The number of suspects currently reaches 57,925 people.

Furthermore, the current positivity rate is still around 14.2 percent or far from the World Health Organization (WHO) standard of five percent.

Currently, out of 34 provinces in Indonesia, 503 districts and cities have also been affected by COVID-19.
