Nagan Raya Aceh Prosecutor's Office Detains 3 Ex-Village Officials Suspected Of Corruption Of Hundreds Of Millions

NAGAN RAYA - The investigative team of the Nagan Raya District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Nagan Raya, Aceh, detained three former officials from Krueng Mangkom Village, Seunagan District, Nagan Raya Regency, for allegedly committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds of up to Rp500 million.

The three suspects who are currently being held at the Class II B Penitentiary in Meulaboh, Aceh Barat, have the initials MAS as village head (keuchik) who served from 2015-2021, FYD as treasurer from 2015-2018, and SLM as village secretary since 2015. 2014-2018.

"The arrests of the suspects are due to the fact that the investigating prosecutor's team has made six summons, but the suspects have failed to respond to the summons," said Head of the Nagan Raya District Attorney's Office, Muib, through the Special Head of Special Unit Yunadi in Nagan Raya, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.

Yunadi explained that the suspects will be detained for the next 20 days at the Meulaboh Class II Penitentiary, West Aceh Regency.

The three suspects are suspected of being involved in the alleged corruption case in the management and use of the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBG) Krueng Mangkom, Seunagan District, Nagan Raya Regency, 2016 and 2017.

All three are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption Juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1 Criminal Code.

Yunadi explained that when the three suspects were about to be arrested, investigators coordinated with Kodim 0116 Nagan Raya officers.

"The three suspects were arrested at their respective homes," said Yunadi.
