KENDARI - The Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government has formed a data security team called the "Computer Security Incident Response Team of Southeast Sulawesi" (Sultraprov-CSIRT) to protect data from cybercrimes.
The Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Ali Mazi, in Kendari, Monday, June 27, said that the higher cybercrime, the need for data and information protection owned by central and regional government institutions/institutions to become increasingly important in order to avoid data leakage or theft by irresponsible parties.
"Observing these conditions, the Southeast Sulawesi Government continues to take steps forward, adaptively, and responsively in terms of securing and protecting data and information owned by the regional government from cybercrime, namely forming the "Computer Security Incident Response Team of Southeast Sulawesi" or Sultraprov-CSIRT," said the Governor when launching the team.
The governor said that the Southeast Sulawesi Province-CSIRT was one of the realizations of the third mission of the four Southeast Sulawesi Regional Development missions for the 2018-2023 period, namely to encourage a modern provincial government bureaucracy, including through the use of technological advances based on electronic means to realize a safe, advanced, and prosperous Southeast Sulawesi, and with dignity in a sustainable manner.
He explained that the Sultraprov-CSIRT was a team formed by the Southeast Sulawesi Government through the Communications and Information Office in collaboration with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) of the Republic of Indonesia which provided guidance and support in the formation of the Sultraprov-CSIRT.

"This team is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and responding to reports related to cybersecurity incidents," said Governor Ali Mazi as quoted by Antara.
He said the main task of Sultraprov-CSIRT was to investigate and protect systems and big data for cybersecurity incidents that attack systems and data in all regional device organizations in Southeast Sulawesi.
He hopes that with the formation of the CSIRT Team, they can prevent and mitigate cyber security incidents in an integrated manner in order to ensure the security of data and information within the OPD, both within the provincial and district/city governments from the risk of data leakage or theft.
Governor Ali Mazi thanked the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) of the Republic of Indonesia for continuing to support the provincial government in making optimal use of electronic-based information technology to bring progress in regional governance in Southeast Sulawesi.
"I instruct all elements in the Sultraprov-CSIRT Team to be able to work and carry out their duties as well as possible and full of responsibility," said Governor Ali Mazi.
